U.S. media: Trump's team expresses rising dissatisfaction after airstrikes in Syria, calling Netanyahu a "madman".
Jin10 reported on July 20 that, according to AXIOS, as airstrikes occurred near the Syrian presidential palace, discussions within the White House grew louder: Netanyahu has lost control. A White House official said, "Bibi acts like a madman. He is always bombing everything, which could undermine what Trump is trying to achieve." Another senior U.S. official pointed out that a church in Gaza was bombed this week, prompting Trump to call Netanyahu to demand an explanation. "It feels like there’s something new every day. What the hell is going on?" A third U.S. official stated that skepticism within the Trump administration about Netanyahu is intensifying, believing he is too impulsive and destructive. "Netanyahu sometimes acts like a disobedient child." However, so far, Trump has avoided making public criticisms, and it is unclear whether he feels as frustrated as his advisors. It is still not entirely clear if he agrees with his advisors regarding concerns over Israel's actions in Syria.
