Polygon will undergo a complex Hard Fork Heimdall 2.0 upgrade, with the finality of blocks reduced to 5 seconds.

[BitPush] Sandeep Nailwal, CEO of the Polygon Foundation, announced that a new consensus layer named Heimdall 2.0 will be deployed this Thursday. He stated that this upgrade will enhance the backbone of the Polygon attestation (PoS) Blockchain, reducing the finality of the Blockchain to about five seconds. However, the complexity is extremely high, potentially making this the most complex Hard Fork the network has seen to date, so Node operators need to prepare for the upgrade in advance.
